Soul singer Gentry Kozia drops his first single “Natural Woman” a song celebrating & uplifting all women young and old. A mixture of vintage soul & Hip hop then add the silky smooth backgrounds with Gentry’s distinctive raspy but polished 2nd tenor vocals and you get a sound that missing in today’s music.
Born and raised in St Louis, Mo, into a family of singers and musicians, Gentry was destined to be a performer. Inspired by Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Donny Hathaway & James Brown. Gentry learned to play piano at an early age and later picked up the guitar. Creating a sound that’s unique in its own, as is his image, a blend of Vintage Soul, Rock & Hip Hop layered with today’s sonics.
Moving from St Louis to California to join forces with west coast’s legend MC Hammer & his Oakland Fight Club Imprint. Gentry has lent his vocals to MC Hammer’s revision of his 2017 “Help The Children” single for which the music video has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube.
Gentry is ready to invite the world into his infectious body of work. The self-proclaimed “Black Hippie” a.k.a. “The Chocolate Boy Wonder” with the eclectic sound and eccentric style is GENTRY KOZIA.
