New Jersey native, Cory Easterling known to the world as BabyBoy “The Magnificent”, knew as a young child that his purpose in life was to sing. He grew up under his family’s deep love for soulful music. As a young boy, he began singing in church and in local talent shows. During his teenage years, BabyBoy built a reputation for being musically gifted. He began writing song for himself and other artist. Now as an adult, he continues to break down those musical barriers with his traditional and contemporary style.
The meaning behind the name “rhythm” part comes from the music’s typical dependence on four-beat measures or bars and the liberal use of a backbeat, in which the second and fourth beats are accented in each measure. And the “blues” portion comes from the lyrics and melodies of the songs, which were often sad. This music genre combines elements of rhythm and blues, pop, soul, funk, hip hop and electronic music. R&B features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangements.
BabyBoy aka “The Magnificent” has always seized the opportunity to sing for anyone and anywhere that wanted to hear him sing. While showcasing his own unique style, with his sweet, smoove, and mesmerizing falsetto register, is very often compared to the award winning R&B singer/song writer/producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. He credits many musical artist that has influenced him such as, Michael Jackson, Philip Bailey, Musiq Soulchild, Miguel, Ron Isley, Maxwell, and D’Angelo, just to name a few.
His passion for singing and his songwriting abilities have landed him in the spotlight all around the country as well as internationally. BabyBoy aka “The Magnificent” is on radio rotation with the tracks “Inside Me” and “Helpless”.
