Alvin Gene – “She’s Gonna Find It”

Alvin Gene grew up in Hartford, Connecticut, singing songs by the Jackson 5, Temptations, Kool and The Gang and many other old school artists. With the support of his beautiful wife Deborah and his son Alvin III, he used to sing back in the 80’s as a hobby but put it on hold and never returned to it until years later when an amazing event happened in his life. His wife of 30 years who was told by doctors that she could never have children became pregnant in 1996, and on January 31, 1997 his son and only child Alvin Gene III was born early at 2 pounds 2 ounces.

They were told he might not live and if he did he would need special help with learning and that he would not be able to play sports like normal kids. Well he fought for his life everyday as Alvin and his wife watched and made it out of the hospital after 3 months and he never looked back.

“I knew I would record again when my son was 1 1/2 years old when I was jamming to James Brown (The Good Foot) and my son got off of his big wheel toy and walked over to the speaker and started bopping his head to the funky beat,” says Alvin. “By the time he was 4 years old and finished pre-school his teachers wanted him to skip kindergarten and go straight to 1st grade. That was the day that I knew I had a miracle child living in my house.”

At age 7 Alvin Gene III was playing little baseball and football and at 8 years old he was playing little league football with the 12 year olds because he was too good to play among his age group. Moving fast forward to 2015 Alvin Gene’s son graduated high school and was in love with music and went to school to learn how to lay tracks down. It was great for him because it was one on one training, and his teacher just happened to be the great Edwin Ramos from Bridgeport, Ct who worked with such artist as Mary J.Blige, the late great Aretha Franklin, Kc and JoJo and many more.

After Alvin Gene III finished recording school, Alvin became his first client as he advised him to record again. And “She’s Gonna Find It”, Alvin Gene’s first single published through CD Baby was released on Sept 5th 2019. Thanks to his miracle son Alvin Gene has finally arrived, and is on radio rotation with “She’s Gonna Find It”.
