Shabazz The Disciple – ‘Wizzard of Oz’

Veteran Wu-Tang affiliate Shabazz The Disciple, known for his thought-provoking lyrics and conscious rap style, is gearing up to release his new album, “The Writing’s On The Wall,” alongside producer Ed Nodz on January 15th.  The album’s second single, “Wizzard of Oz,” showcases Shabazz’s signature blend of hood wisdom and insightful commentary, delivered over a driving beat crafted by the talented Ed Nodz.

Shabazz, whose solo career took flight in 2003 with “The Book of Shabazz,” boasts a rich history. He notably appeared on the 1994 debut album of the RZA/Prince Paul-helmed group Gravediggaz, “6 Feet Deep,” and released several singles, including the impactful “Death Be the Penalty” on Tommy Boy Records.

While his 1998 solo album was initially slated for release on GZA Entertainment, the label’s dissolution and strained relationships led him to co-found the crew Sunz of Man alongside fellow Killa Bee and longtime affiliate Killah Priest.

“Wizzard of Oz” serves as a powerful introduction to “The Writing’s On The Wall,” and the duo aims to continue building anticipation for the album with the release of subsequent singles.

Shabazz The Disciple (born David Collins) is a renowned Wu-Tang affiliate and veteran rapper known for his conscious lyrics, insightful social commentary, and unique brand of “hood scripture.”  Ed Nodz is an underground producer recognized for his dynamic and innovative beat production. Shabazz The Disciple & Ed Nodz are on Toneflame Urban radio rotation with the track “Wizzard of Oz”.
