Twizm Whyte Piece Aka T.w.p. is a multi-award-winning artist and performer. The ambitious artist whose name means –T.he W.orld IZ M.ine – is a father of 5 children who has been married to the same woman for 17 Yrs.  An ex-gang member who sold guns and drugs, while spiraling towards addictions, shootings and prison, Twizm found the strength to motivate himself and defeat his demons, after losing his family and freedom. Now totally independent and self-managed, the artist has released a ton of acclaimed music and accumulated a plethora of awards and citations. His latest release is the 10 song album “Dreams To Reality”.

Straight off the cuff, the biggest positive about this new album is Twizm Whyte Piece’s renowned lyrical ability. His wordplay is very clever and witty. He experiments with words and tries to make similes or metaphors of them, and for the most part they work brilliantly.

At the same time T.w.p. is a true storyteller, which makes sure his albums have substance and entertain the listener with engaging rhymes. Some albums move people in ways unheard of before, remaining in people’s hearts, and keeping them company whenever needed. For me, one of those albums is “Dreams To Reality”.

This is an amazing album that even the most ferocious critics who may doubt Twizm Whyte Piece won’t be able to ignore. “Dreams To Reality” starts off with a banger entitled “Ice Cream”, and T.w.p. rips it right from the get-go in an understated, laidback flow.

“Sexy Senorita” has a Spanish pop-rock twang to it, backed by some thumping kicks and snares, and I love it. The hook and guitar on this track certainly serve their purpose to the full. Twizm Whyte Piece drops loads of memorable lines on “Hustle Bunny”, one of the outright better tracks on the recording.

“Champion” is embellished with dramatic strings and a cinematic backdrop, while “Heart of a Champion” showcases the rapper’s ability to switch his flow on the fly. This is another standout cut. Twizm Whyte Piece presents us with another relaxing beat on “SuperStar” which flexes a deep resonant bottom end.

Even the naysayers will love “Jack Frost”, as T.w.p. shows off his razor edge rhyming skills, displaying the ability to kill any beat. On “Orange Starburst”, T.w.p. combines the best of the things he does, which is wildly impressive lyricism that few can keep up with, outspokenness, and of course a banging beat.

Clearly this album moves towards its artistic apex as it reaches the final tracks, which is quite the opposite of most modern albums, which usually lose steam by the end. Twizm Whyte Piece spits his subject matter with fervor on both “Straight To The Moon” and “Money Money Money”, as he antagonizes listeners, forcing them to listen to his words, rather than just hear them. I was hypnotized.

This album holds your attention from start to finish because of the lyrics, but also the music – the solid production all throughout, offers a perfect background to the blazing poetry. It’s so rare nowadays to have an album which has that kind of artistic integrity throughout.

Not just content on bringing words together, Twizm Whyte Piece explores the choices of life in all its different facets. In that regard “Dreams To Reality” more than fascinates. It marks the return of quality emceeing in the current musical climate.
