DJ Costas Costa caught the Reggae bug at the age of 15 and has refused to be cured! Coming from Greek Cypriot origins, Costas’s immigrant parents arrived in the UK in the 50’s, approximately the same time as the Caribbean community was arriving – all searching for a better life. ‘Hanging out with kids with Jamaican parents shaped my musical taste – it was a true blessing!’
After acquiring his first set of decks at the age of 21, he has since played at a plethora of bars & clubs throughout the UK, Spain & Cyprus, blending throwback classics with the big tunes of now. 35 years on, DJ Costa’s love for Reggae music remains high & buoyant and he has recently co-written & co-produced tracks entitled ‘No Rich Man’ and Way Forward (Revolution 22), both playlisted on David Rodigan’s BBC1 Xtra Radio Show. Other genres on DJ Costas’s spectrum include 90’s R&B and Soulful House, showing true versatility by recently co-producing the Gospel inspired Dr Jaymz’s dance remix of Stormzy’s ‘Blinded by your Grace’.
