Augustine Kiawu, a creative, skilled and talented Christian artist (also known as Lyrico) who was born and raised in Liberia, on the West Coast of Africa, has launched of his new Gospel Record Company. Dubbed as ‘KNG Gospel Kingdom,’ this independent mrecord company was founded by Lyrico in conjunction with his wife, Julie G Kiawu. It is noteworthy to mention that KNG Gospel Kingdom has marketed, promoted, distributed and is currently a partner with major record companies like MPRE, Sony Music Group, and The Orchard Distribution.
Having served some time in jail as a result of his arrest for crime related activities, which could have left him behind bars for 40 years, Augustine’s life changed for the better thereafter. While in prison, Lyrico had a divine encounter with the Lord God Almighty, and this singular event altered the course of his life positively.
In the vision, he was instructed to surrender his life totality to Jesus Christ, and his victory would be obvious to all. As God would have it, all charges against him were dropped, and he was set free. His life took a completely new turn, and found a fresh meaning and purpose in life. It was to this end that Lyrico was able to come up with the idea of establishing his own Gospel Record Company.
Presently living in Philadelphia, and serving as a true minister/upcoming Pastor of the Gospel of GOD Almighty through Jesus Christ, Lyrico said; “I am absolutely delighted about the launch of my Gospel Record Company. KNG GOSPEL KINGDOM consists of a Gospel Label (Divine Record), a Production Label (Lyrico Ent.), a Music Publishing (The Kiawu’s Music, BMI, The Ghoson’s Music ASCAP), Artist Development, and many more.”
Lyrico has also released his first EP as a gospel artist on his own indie record label, KNG Music Group/Divine Record during the month of April. The EP has been tagged “I.S.M – I AM SENT ME”. Augustine Kiawu came to the US in 2001. He lived in Maryland, before moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2003, where he met with a couple of African and Black American Rappers. After a freestyle session, Augustine was given the name Lyrico. Ever since then, Lyrico have become one of the best African artists in the African and American community.
In early 2010, Lyrico was arrested and charged with crimes that could leave him behind bars for 40yrs. As God would have it, all charges against him were dropped and he was set free.
In as much as the experience wasn’t a good one, Lyrico said he was happy for it because it was through that experience that his life was change up till this very day. Right now, Lyrico has taken on a different role, dreams and mission to accomplish.
