Freddy Cee is an American music prodigy of Haitian-African descent. The Brooklyn bred artiste cum producer started his journey as an 8 year old, when he wrote his first song. He went ahead to be featured in various radio stations at the age of 12. His family played a big role in his music upbringing and development, as music was part of his growing up at home. He was greatly influenced by the music and style of Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, 2Pac, and also by the Classical music style, RnB, Soul, etc.

Freddy’s passion for music took another dimension and turn, when at the age of 19, he discovered his love for music production, which he wholeheartedly embraced and accepted. He has produced many songs, and has mentored and developed upcoming artistes through it.

As a songwriter, artiste, and producer, Freddy Cee majors on Reggae, but has done some works in Hip Hop and Afrobeat, He has redefined the essence and meaning of the genres, bringing fresh vibes into his music. He is a diversified artiste whose proficiency cuts across many genres.

Freddy Cee has released many singles and produced many for others. He released an album “The Frequencies” in 2012, with Ed, a close pal and fellow artiste, which was a great hit.  He released another one titled “I Got This” in December 2017. This particular song was widely received and accepted. He performed in the first Russian Hip Hop Festival. He has also worked with various music groups and artiste in one project or the other.

He also has degree in Business Management and Computer Technology. When he is not doing music, he devotes his time to his family, or in training and teaching people martial art, and music engineering. He is also a businessman.

Freddy Cee own a music production label named “Deadly Zone Inc”, through which he has trained, developed and mentored many music groups and artistes.

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

My tunes are moving, exciting, deep, unique and fun.

Q: Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?

Yes, I currently have a single out on all platforms entitled “I Got This” and I just completed my first solo album as an artist to be released this year. As a producer I have worked on many collaborations with a lot of different talented artists.

Q: Describe your family member’s musical interests and abilities?

My whole family is somehow involved in music. As a child Music was part of the daily routine and brought us closer. My brothers are musicians and former Dj’s Jazz radio host and so on. Over the years I developed a different kinda love for music, expressing it through music production and by sharing that bliss as a multi genre artist.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

I produce about 10 beats a day and constantly write new materials so coming up with songs is a super fun and easy process for me specially when I am either going through something or simply having fun.

Q: Who are your inspirations?

My mother inspires me a lot she always teaches the most relevant lessons. My son Musa act as a muse unknowingly sometimes my queen and i get inspired by deeds and lessons daily.

Q: Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?

Growing up I loved listening to Classical and Jazz music. Also got influenced by the sounds of KRS One, Wu Tang, Ace of bass, James Brown, Buju B, The Fugees, Bob Marley,2Pac (All eyes on me) was among my favorites.)

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

I had a purpose before you had an opinion. The advice I live by: Talk less do more.

Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write or produce songs and what’s your favorite part about the process?

I get inspired by anything: Nature, a word, a situation that happened, people arguing or if I’m in a certain vibe I would listen to one of my favorite records get pumped lol and get busy.

My favorite part is the looking at people faces after listening to the finished product and then asking: is that you? Lol

Q: When and why did you start producing music?

I started producing music while skipping classes in my first semester in college with my buddy Damon who introduce me to the concept of making beats which turned into a bowling passion.

Q: How do you shut things out?

Easy, I kill the noises of expectations, insecurities and hatred. The rest handles itself.
